Denny was in Minneapolis and involved in Minn-StF before I was (so at least the early 1970s). Terry moved here in the 80s, and she and Denny were at many Minn-StF meetings and most or all Minicons until health issues got in the way.

This was the first collection coming from more than one person we’ve received. Of course it made questions of who took which photos come to the fore.

There are photos in the collection that we fairly confidently date to 1975, before Denny and Terry were together; those photos also have Denny’s handwriting on the back, so we fairly confidently consider those to be Denny’s photos.

We also have photos clearly by Terry from before she was involved with Denny (and another friend confirms that she used an Olympus Pen half-frame 35mm camera at one point; we have contact sheets of such negatives with years in the 70s marked on them) .

After they were together, no photos that are clearly Denny’s appear, though he may have been handed the camera for groups including Terry. Every processing bag that a roll of film came back from the lab in, for example, has Terry’s name on it, and the notes added to the bags are in Terry’s writing. I have marked those as by Terry, but that’s inference, not real knowledge.

Terry usually ordered double prints, and my inference is that she gave copies of pictures to friends. In fact we’ve found photos of hers in the collection we got from David Charles Cummer (we’re reasonably sure they were Terry’s shots since the negatives were in this collection). She also received photos from friends, and some of those are identified as such (but probably not all).

The collection was given to us by Terry’s brother James and Denny’s sister Deb.
